The 33A and 35A series exit devices from Von Duprin are for all types of single doors and double doors with a mullion. They are installed across the inside of a door to allow for egress during panic situations, where the door will operate by pushing against the bar. The 33 series panic bars have a grooved mechanism case while the 35 series has a smooth mechanism case. This rim device is non-handed, which means it can be installed on doors that swing either left or right. These devices are ANSI A156.32014 rated and considered Grade 1 door hardware.
The 33 and 35 series panic bars are a narrow stile panic bar. If your door has a glass pane in it, you need to make sure the head of the panic bar you install on the door fits on the part of the door that is not glass. The width from the edge of the door to the edge of the glass pane is call the stile. The Von Duprin 33A and 35A panic bars can be used on a door with a stile as narrow as 1 3/4 inches.
The AX-PA33A panic bars are California approved panic bars for glass doors. Accessible rated panic bars can only use a maximum of five pounds of pressure to operate. The Von Duprin AX-PA33A-EO series panic bars all meet the building standards for accessibility.
Panic bars with Pushpad Armor have a composite accessory on the hinge side of the panic bar pushpad. This provides added support against the wear and tear of high traffic area use. It also provides protection to the pushpad.
This exit only function panic bar does not include any trim hardware for the exterior of the door. If installed, it will only allow egress through the door without reentry. Trim must be purchased separately.
This hardware is not fire rated and may not be used on a fire door.
